Mike Strombeck
President & Founder
Mike is the founder of Aviators Insurance and the chief executive in charge of client relations and business development. He’s a respected industry expert, a seasoned pilot, and a veteran flight instructor—with ATP, Single-Engine, Multi-Engine, Instrument, CFI, CFII, and MEI certifications. “Pilots and aircraft enthusiasts all share a special bond, and many of our clients have become my friends,” Mike says. “I’m incredibly grateful for the trust that the aviation community has placed in our agency to help them navigate the insurance landscape and guide them to the right coverage.”
Mike founded Aviators in 1999 after spending 16 years as a regional sales and underwriting manager for a national aviation insurance company. He has also worked as a commercial pilot for SkyWest Airlines. He’s a graduate of Central Washington University and earned dual B.S. degrees in aircraft systems and business, with a minor in accounting.
Peter Rota
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Peter oversees financial matters for Aviators Insurance and is the executive in charge of policy updates and renewals. An aviation aficionado, he took his first solo flight in 1985 and is a licensed private pilot certified to operate single and multi-engine aircraft. Aviators’ clients appreciate Peter’s extensive industry knowledge, his keen awareness of their goals, and his innate ability to build a personal rapport. “Engaging with our clients is the most important part of my job,” Peter says. “Listening is key—and the only way to truly understand what a client needs and how we can best be of service.”
Prior to joining Aviators in 1999, Peter spent six years as an underwriter for a national aviation insurance company, and he began his career as a cargo manager for Delta Airlines. He’s a graduate of San Jose State University and earned his B.S. degree in aeronautics, with a minor in finance.
Raynor Strombeck
Associate Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Raynor oversees the daily operations of Aviators Insurance. With meticulous attention to detail and a creative, solution-focused ethos, he strives to ensure that all Aviators’ clients receive the highest level of service and care. His love for aviation began as a child, when he first took the controls of a Cessna 172 during a business flight with his father. “At a very young age I was lucky enough to be introduced to the freedom and excitement that private aviation can bring,” Raynor says. “Now I’m proud to help meet the insurance needs of our clients so they can discover that same exhilarating feeling.”
Raynor joined Aviators in 2013 after spending nearly a decade as a manager for a luxury retailer, where he honed his signature concierge approach to client service. He’s a graduate of California Lutheran University and earned his M.A. degree in public policy and business administration, as well as dual B.A. degrees in political science and philosophy.
